Macbeth: Act 1, Scene ii: Homework

Im going to translate in this post, what the bleeding and bloody Sargeant has said:

Doubtful it stood;
As two spent swimmers, that do cling together
And choke their art. The merciless Macdonwald–
Worthy to be a rebel, for to that
The multiplying villanies of nature
Do swarm upon him–from the western isles
Of kerns and gallowglasses is supplied;
And fortune, on his damned quarrel smiling,
Show’d like a rebel’s whore: but all’s too weak:
For brave Macbeth–well he deserves that name–
Disdaining fortune, with his brandish’d steel,
Which smoked with bloody execution,
Like valour’s minion carved out his passage
Till he faced the slave;
Which ne’er shook hands, nor bade farewell to him,
Till he unseam’d him from the nave to the chaps,
And fix’d his head upon our battlements.

`1. At the first point the sergeant means a war between him and someone else, that for him means the art of kill or of the war

2. In the second one the merciless Macdonwald is proud to be a rebel and he is very strong, but he feels that he is been ignored and very weak inside him.

3. At the third one the brave king Macbeth said that all is weak for him and his glorious that is not being appreciated

4. The most important part of this is when he do the bloody execution that means that he was feeling brave and not being appreciated that he feels angry, and that’s why he do the bloody execution to his slave with his sword created with his passage or step.

5. This last part means when the king had killed to the slave without saying nothing to him and that was for demonstrate that anyone has to disrecpect him and that they have to be serious and put the head on, in the battlements.

Jameel’s debate group

Im going to talk about the debate of Rwanda war.

I start with the United Nations and how they intervent in the war, but first,what is the job of the United Nations? . Is helping and caring about others. Is good to do that, and they help a lot in the war of rwanda, but the question is.Why they dont help to the tutsis of rwanda? Is that they doesnt take care on how the Hutus kill to tutsis? Or was,because they think that was a little country that dont have power? Well the answer is in how the president of the United Nations can get to the most of the people around the world but not to the citizens of Rwanda. In this war around 1 million tutsi people die. The Hutus killed the tutsis because they hated.And also they killed to the general Juvenal Habyarimana.In that year the United Nations can helped to the tutsis bring it house and food,because they had a lot of resources but only the people of the other countries were the priority.

Let’s talk about the univesal Declaration of Human Rights UN. When we born we must have the right that we can live free .But in the war was horrible and happens the opposite thing of the life. Another said that we live with the protect and care of the UN. But the united nations didnt help so much in rwanda, more was for the inmigrants. And the last said that we cant live in bad conditions or be tortured. But in this case they do all those things and the UN dont prevent it.With this laws we can understand more that the United Nations must have to help to the people that they need it, but they do nothing.

Now lets talk about the really reasons of why the united nations dont help in the war of Rwanda? Is because they dont want to spent a lot of troops or they decided do nothing,because in the laws said that they must have to help. All the people that were in the world that year and saw the news of the war in Rwanda must have to stand up and said “Oh my god” whats happening with this people we must have to help or gain it, to stop it .But that was my answer, I don’t know what do you think

In conclusion the Rwanda war was cathastrophic and the United Nations president was regretful because he was unable to help in the war for the people who died ,but the blue helmets bring a little help for defend the tutsi people and carry for leave the country.

This is my debate in Hammels group.

hotel rwanda essay

QUESTION: How does the director of Hotel Rwanda use cinematographic techniques to develop the tension in Paul’s “epiphany” scene?

Terry George, the director of Hotel Rwanda uses a large variety of cinematographic techniques to develop the tension in the selected scene in order to ensure the audience fully understands the gravity of the situation Paul is faced with. The director uses the techniques with special effects, sound effects, focus, and camera shots.

[The film starts with a man telling to the protagonist that be careful about what he said,then the man said that he have to go with the river path,later he was in a van with other man that works to him,then they fall because they were faster,after that the van stops, and the protagonist get out of the van,he falls and when he was in the floor he found dead bodies and Paul stand up faster and see that there was more dead bodies of the hutus who died.]

The special effects were in the scenario that paul was and the blood of the dead bodies and the fog that was there this was an amazing idea of the director because want to see and think to what is going to happen after, want to make us. The mist was a great idea of the director because,creates that feeling that you want to feel in this type of movies, and adds more suspense to the video.

The sound effects were more louder when paul reacts to what happen.The director did this because, want to create tension,and suspense and make us to feel scared and sickness.

The focus was more in Paul,because the director want to make us feel, that we are the character and make us feel what Paul is feeling.

The camera shots used in this video was: middle shot ,close-up and long shot that was a great idea of the director to make us feel more, that we are Paul and feel suspense and to see what happens. The close-up ,in the middle of the video,the director shows how they drive in the fog without know where are they going, after they stop and Paul open the door and fall down. Then he saw the face of paul that make us feel horrified with the dead face,later he stand up and see more dead bodies that the hutus killed, and paul realises about whats happening. Mid-shot ,happens when paul and the other start to loose control of the car and after that paul falls, he saw a dead kid and then paul undersand why the sir who give the food to paul,said to him that the road of the river is the best choice, to get surprised, with that people who get killed,that they dont do nothing.The long shot happens at the final of the video, when paul see many dead bodies with the fog complaining, paul almost vomist about what he is seeing now, later paul starts to cry and then return very faster to the van.

In conclusion the director wants to saw us about how much does work for do a great job with the camera shots, the special effects, the sound effects and the focus. That things make us feel in the character position, make us feel what the character feel and what is thinking at any moment, Paul will have passed very bad psychological times in the film at all the moment.

That was my essay of the Hotel Rwanda video, thank you for reading.
